The uniforms of the post war era remained largely
unchanged from the days of the Great Patriotic War. The few changes of the late 1955 were
short lived and largely replaced by the 1958 reforms. They primarily involved modernizing the look of the
officers and parade uniforms. It was an effort to give them the appearance of a forward-looking military, a look that they still had
yet to achieve. Still, the uniforms were typically Soviet - durable,
rugged, and functional.

listed in the Naval section. The paramilitary section will cover agencies
that did not fall under the Ministry of Defense (such as the NKVD and MVD).
