The PM Makarov
Pistol in Pictures

This section has many high detail pictures of the PM Makarov Pistol. Virtually every part of the weapon is photographed and described.  I will be the first to admit that the example in our possession is not to military specs, it is a civilian version.  The primary difference in the two is that the military version has a fixed rear site, rather than the adjustable version that you can see here.  Rest assured that as soon as we can obtain a military Makarov we will do so.  To go to a specific part of the weapon simply click on the desired section below. I should warn you that these pages can take some time to load.

The Weapon and its Parts

The PM Makarov is shown in the pictures below.  The example we have obtained is a little worse for wear, but will be cleaned and refinished.  It is seen at right in an almost completely disassembled configuration.  Except for replacing parts, there is no need to disassemble the weapon to this extent.

The Front and Rear Sight

This section details the front and rear sights of the Makarov.  The picture to the right show the proper site picture when aiming the PM.  The picture below shows the front site of the weapon, while the bottom right picture shows the rear site of the civilian model.

NOTE: The military PM has a fixed site, not the adjustable site you see at the bottom right.  All other features are identical.

The Handgrip and Magazine Well

The two pictures below show the details of the texture of the handgrip (which is made of bakelite).  The retaining screw can also be seen.  Barely visible in these pictures are the star in a circle design that is cast onto the handgrip.

The picture at the bottom right shows the lanyard loop and clip, as well as the magazine release.  The picture to the right shows the base of the weapon with the magazine removed.
