The Officer is Wearing:
The officer in this picture is wearing a captain of the third rank's service uniform.  This summer everyday uniform is worn when in formation by officers, warrant officers, and extended service enlisted men.

Worn with this uniform are the officer's service ribbons  that he has earned.  The officer's belt is worn under the jacket.

Enlisted men and warrant officers wear the peaked cap with a black cord, a shoulder patch, and length of service stripes.
