Kanin Class / Project 57AM |
|
|
This section is dedicated to pictures of the 'Kanin' class destroyer. Our pictures are all authentic and were taken at some time when the ship was in active service, and usually by the United States navy. We will add more photographs as they are acquired, but until then, will do our best with what we have.
The forward half of DDG-567 In this picture you can see a high detail picture of the 'Gnevnyy', a ship of the Kanin class as it maneuvered in the Pacific Ocean sometime in 1982. |
Another view of DDG-567 Here is another picture of the 'Gnevnyy' shown above. Some of the ship's weapons systems (the torpedo tubes and anti-aircraft guns) are covered by canvas sheets. The rear missile launcher can also be seen. Many other small details can also be seen here. |
The superstructure and sensor array This picture of the DDG-567 'Gnevneyy' shows the position and type of the ship's sensors. During the Cold War photographs like these were what enabled the NATO alliance to track the changing electronic capabilities of Soviet warships. Four of the ship's 30mm anti-aircraft guns can also be seen here. |
