Victor Class / Project 671 |
Here is a second page of pictures dedicated to pictures of all variants of the 'Victor' class nuclear powered submarine. The pictures are all authentic and were taken at some time when the submarine was in active service. All of these pictures were taken by the United States Navy during the Cold War, but hopefully some Soviet pictures will be made available soon for us to display.
The Victor II Here we have a picture of a Victor II submarine tied to a large object in the water ahead of it. We do not currently know what this object is, but it is most probably a mooring or communications bouy. This photo was taken by the US Navy in the Pacific Ocean on 8 June 1982. |
A closer view of the Victor II This photo shows the above scene in more detail. Virtually all of the details of the bow section of the Victor II are clearly visible here, as is the object tied to the submarine. Some crewmen on the deck help show the scale of everything here. This picture was taken by the US Navy on 9 June 1982. |
The Victor at Sea In this picture was taken by the US Navy sometime around April 1975. It shows a Victor class submarine underway. The photo does not give any indication of where it was taken. |
A Composite View of a Victor III These two pictures taken by the US Navy on 30 March 1989 show the Victor III submarine on patrol. The sunlight reflecting across the deck helps to show many small details which could not be seen otherwise. Many of the sensor masts are also visible. The picture gives no indication as to where it was taken. |
