Scud launcher crewmen

Here you can see details front passenger side of the MAZ-543 cab.  Subtle details such as the hand rails, windshield wiper, door latch, and foot rail can be seen in this picture.

Also in the picture is one of the vehicle crew members who is wearing a padded helmet and the coveralls most commonly associated with tank crewmen.

The other soldier wearing the armband appears to be an officer wearing the regulation winter jacket.

Here you can see a Scud launcher crew in Winter as they receive instructions during a launching exercise.  Two Scud missiles can be seen in their vertical launch positions.  Another Scud crew can be seen near the base of the missile in the background.  No date or location was given in this Soviet photo.

An image of the apocalypse

Although it is only a training exercise, this Soviet photo hints at what the Third World War would have looked like.  Troops in OP-1 chemical protective suits work around their SS-1 'Scud' launcher.  The soldier atop the vehicle is manually releasing the retaining assembly, while the driver observes.  The SS-1 in the background is only just beginning to erect its missile prior to firing.
