Service Patches

These were the first patches instituted by the Russian Federation and replaced the Soviet patches that had been worn since 1968.  They were eventually phased out in favor of newer patches.

General Staff and Central Department of the Ministry of Defense Army Patches (1)

These patches were established in 1997.  They are worn by officers and warrant officers serving with the General Staff and the Central Department of the Ministry of Defense.  There were several varieties of the patch made for the different branches of the military, but we currently only have the air defense force patch to display.

Nationality Patches (1)

These patches are worn on the left sleeve and signify that the soldier is a member of the Russian military.  The patch on the right is the more common version, while the patch on the left is used by Russian soldiers when they are serving in a foreign nation, often as part of an international peacekeeping force.
