Soldier-Sportsman Badges (1995)
(1) These badges were established in 1995 and awarded to soldiers for excellence in physical conditioning and sports activities. They replaced the earlier 1964 pattern Soviet badges which had been worn well into 1994. Like their Soviet counterparts, they came in three classes and was worn by both soldiers, airmen, and sailors. They are screw back badges made of aluminum and colored enamel. |

Officer Qualification Badges (1994) (1) These badges were formally established in 1994 and are worn by officers. They replaced the earlier Soviet 1961 pattern badges that were used until 1993. They fasten to the uniform by means of a screw back fastener. |

Enlisted Specialist Badges (1994) (1) This badge was formally established in 1994, and replaced the 1989 Soviet enlisted badges. It is worn by enlisted personnel, sergeants, soldiers, and sailors. It replaced the earlier Soviet pattern badges in use until 1993. It fastens to the uniform by means of two pins. |
