Submarine Commander's Badge (1996)
(1) This badge was formally established in 1996. It is worn by the commander of a submarine. It is similar to the earlier Soviet pattern badge, but lacks the red star of that type. Like most military badges it is a screwback design. |
Long Voyage Badges (1996)
(1) These badges were issued to sailors who participated in long distance missions at sea. Different badges are awarded to sailors serving on surface ships and submarines. These badges were established in 1996 and replaced the earlier Soviet types used until that time. |

Soldier-Sportsman Badges (1995)
(1) These badges were established in 1995 and awarded to soldiers for excellence in physical conditioning and sports activities. They replaced the earlier 1964 pattern Soviet badges which had been worn well into 1994. Like their Soviet counterparts, they came in three classes and was worn by both soldiers, airmen, and sailors. They are screwback badges made of aluminum and colored enamel. |
