Woman's Winter Parade Dress

Woman Officer Winter
Parade Dress

Air Force Lieutenant

The Officer is Wearing:
The Winter parade walking out uniform, for female service personnel.  It is almost identical to the summer uniform, with a great coat worn over the summer uniform and boots worn instead of shoes.

Unlike the picture on the right, the shoulder boards  have a blue stripe rather than the red one shown.  The winter hat is also worn with the Aviation cockade rather than the army one at right.

More about the uniform:

This uniform was adopted in 1988 as a replacement for the earlier M68 pattern uniform.  The earlier uniform was almost identical to this one, but it had a ladies papaka in place of the ushanka worn here.  The uniform also required shoes in place of the boots.  The change to the new 1988 pattern resulted in a more comfortable and functional uniform than its predecessor.
