Soviet Cold War Uniforms

Uniforms and insignia changed a great deal over the duration of the decades long Cold War. This section will cover the uniforms and field gear after the reforms of 1968 to the end of the Soviet Union. It was these reforms that built upon those of the 1950's. These were the most sweeping reforms and went a long way toward taking the Soviet military from a home defense ''people's army'' to a modern professional military force.
