RPG-26 Front End

The front of the RPG-26 is protected by a rubber cap to protect the PG-26 rocket inside.  This cap can be seen in the picture to the right.  Each of the sections is scored to allow the rocket to exit the launcher.

Below you can see the front of the RPG-26.  The right side of the weapon can be seen directly below.  The front end cap is permenantly attached to the weapon and cannot be easily be removed.  The flip up front sight and sling attachment point are also visible.  The grainy pattern of the green fiberglass tube can also be seen.

The opposite side of the weapon can be seen in the middle right picture.  There are no markings on this part of the weapon, only a retaining band holding the front end cap.

A nut and retaining screw can be seen from below in the lower right photograph.

Front Sling Attachment Point

The RPG-26 can be carried by means of a canvas sling attached to the weapon at two points.  The front sling attachment point is located on the front left side of the weapon.

Launcher Tube Markings

The body of the weapon is covered by many markings.  The most obvious is the instruction decal on the left side of the tube that tells the user how to safely fire the weapon.

The number on the white label below is possibly an inventory control number.  The label is covered by a clear adhesive tape.

On the right side of the tube is a series of numbers and letters.  The top line indicates the type of weapon "RPG-26".  The second number is an inventory control number.  The fourth line "7B20" is likely a GRAU designation number for the weapon.  The line below "533-012-90" indicates the year that the weapon was manufactured - 1990.

Rear Sight Assembly (Closed)

Along the top of the weapon is the rear sight assembly.  In the top right photo you can see the sight assembly in the closed position.  The three holes on the sight are for adjusting the weapon due to temperature conditions.  They are marked with a "-" a "+" and a "±15".  The arming pin can be seen on the left hand side.

Below is a view of the rear sight from the right side of the weapon  The ends of the arming pin can be seen in the hole in the middle of the sight assembly.

The picture above shows a close up of the left side of the rear sight assembly.  The front of the label and the arming pin can be seen here.

Ahead of the sight assembly can be seen where it is fixed to the tube of the weapon.

Rear Sight Assembly (Open)

The arming pin can be seen in the upper right picture.  It is a very simple device, that when removed, allows the rear sight to be flipped up and the trigger to be depressed.

The sight can be seen in the armed position in the pictures below.  The red lever is the trigger.  It is armed when the sight is flipped up and the weapon is fired simply by depressing it.

The picture to the right shows a view the user would see after they flip up the rear site.  The tiny sight aperture can also be seen in the middle of the leaf.
