Close Up of Front and Rear Sights

When the front and rear sites are both flipped up the weapon is ready to be fired.  The view of the weapon in this condition can be seen in the upper right photograph.

The photograph below gives an idea of what it is like to look through the sights of the weapon.  A closer view is shown in the middle right photo.

A close up view of the flip up front site can be seen on the bottom right.  It is a simple sheet metal construction.  The markings denote 50, 150, and 250 meters.  The raised squares on either side of the red colored triangle help the operator to better aim at moving targets.

Rear Sling Attachment Point

Working back to the rear of the weapon one can see the rear sling attachment point.  Also visible are the steel hooks that hold the rear rubber cap that protects the PG-26 rocket inside.  A small pouch containing small cloth earplugs can be seen in the bottom right picture at the top of the sling.  It is attached to the sling by an elastic band.

RPG-26 Rear and Rubber End Cap

The rubber end cap at the rear of the weapon can be seen to the right.  Two of the retaining clips can also be seen.  What the markings on this portion of the weapon mean are unknown at this time.

The picture below shows the weapon with the rear end cap removed.  On the active weapon there are white plastic cones and a wire coming from the rubber covered assembly in front of the two screws.  All of these components are destroyed when the weapon is fired.

The rear rubber end cap can be seen in the bottom left photograph.

Disintegrating Rubber End Cap

The rear cap covering the exhaust area of the weapon can be seen to the right.  It is made up of two separate rubber pieces.  The outer portion is scored to allow it to blow off more easily.  The inner piece gives the escaping gases something to push against.  This enables it to more completely blow through the outer portion, allowing the exhaust gases to safely escape.  Both sides of the end cap components can be seen below.
