Uniforms
and Field Gear of the Russian Federation (1992-2002) |
The uniforms of the new Russian military differed little from their late Soviet counterparts. It was only when new standards were approved in 1994 did things change. The old Soviet designs gave way to new and unique uniforms that harkened back to the old Tsarist designs. Only the special purpose uniforms (chemical protective suits and flight suits) remained the same. Select the branch of service that you wish to
learn more about below. I should mention that Naval Infantry uniforms are
listed in the Naval section. The state security section will cover agencies that did not fall under the Ministry of Defense (such as
the FSB, MVD, Border Guards, and even the occasional Militsia
uniform). Specialized field gear
used by the Russian military can also be found here. |
