The Soldier is Wearing:
The soldier in this picture represents a typical Soviet infantryman of 1963. Other than the weapons he carries little has changed from the war years.

He is also carrying a gas mask on his left side, an ammunition pouch holding four 40-rnd magazines, and an RPK light machine gun. He is also wearing an SSh-40 helmet.
