The Order of Labor Glory was established in three classes and awarded to workers and foremen in industry, transport, construction, and other branches of the manufacturing sector. It was given for selfless and highly efficient work at one enterprise, and for innovations, inventions, and ideas for greater efficiency. It was also awarded to teachers for major achievements in the education of children and young people. The first Orders of Labor Glory were given to orkers of the Vladimir Ilyich Engineering Works in Moscow on August 9, 1974. It was also given to coal miners of the Amalgamation Yuzhkuzbassugol factory, and the Zaporozhstal Steel Works. Mikhail Kisin, a worker at the Vladimir Ilyich Engineering Works received the first Order of Labor Glory 3rd class. The first holder of the Order of all three classes became Abbasov Vekil Gadzhi Aga-ogly, a well driller in Azerbaijan in 1981. | ||||||||
